Entry-level team members complete the apprenticeship on site through JDU, learning on the same advanced systems our customers come to benchmark. What materials do you work with?
We work with all carbon and stainless steels, high-nickel alloys including Inconel and Hastelloy, titanium, tungsten, PH stainless steels, and plastics. We do not machine cast iron, beryllium copper, or glass-filled materials.
What tolerances do you hold?
Machined parts: turned features to .0005″ and milled features to .005″. Sheet metal and fabrication: standard sheet metal tolerances.
How do you handle ITAR and CMMC compliant activities?
JD Machine is committed to meeting all design data handling requirements. We are ITAR registered and compliant, and hold CMMC Level 2 certification via third-party C3PAO assessment. Certifications and registration are available here.

Do I need experience to apply for an apprenticeship?
No! The Apprenticeship is an entry-level position. You will complete 4 years of training and an educational program to receive your Journey-Level Machinist Certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor.
