A World-Class Facility, Designed Around the Work

JD Machine operates from a 100,000 sq ft, climate-controlled facility in Ogden, Utah, completed in 2009 and designed to support product quality and flow with minimal environmental impact. The layout is built around the work: machining cells, fabrication stations, a dedicated assembly room, and a temperature- and humidity-controlled quality area, organized so material moves through the shop in a controlled sequence rather than crossing the floor multiple times.

Climate control matters at the tolerances JD Machine holds. Ambient temperature and humidity swings can move dimensional readings on a gage and shift material behavior during machining. The facility removes those variables across the production floor and tightens them further inside the dedicated quality area.

A 3rd facility addition is currently underway to support continued growth and additional production capacity.

Capability Infrastructure

The equipment stack supports the full scope of JD Machine's precision machining and fabrication capabilities under one roof. Precision CNC machining covers 4- and 5-axis work in steel, titanium, aluminum, Inconel, composites, and hard plastics, with tolerances to +/- 0.001". CNC turning runs on dual-spindle, multi-turret centers with 4-axis milling capability, handling cylindrical parts up to 12" outer diameter across stainless steel, tungsten, nickel-based alloys, high-temperature alloys, and the broader material range.

Sheet metal fabrication covers thin-gage precision punching and forming, with journey-level TIG welding for assemblies. Mechanical assembly and testing closes the loop in-house, so a finished, tested part ships from the same facility that cut the first chip.

Each cell is selected, programmed, and operated to support specific workpieces and tolerance bands. Equipment selection for any given program is made during quoting based on the part requirements.

Inspection and Testing Infrastructure

A temperature- and humidity-controlled quality area is built into the facility specifically for inspection of precision components. The environmental control supports consistent dimensional verification across the production cycle.

In-house assembly and testing protocols include pressure tests, helium leak tests, electrical conductivity tests, and functional performance testing. Each test is governed by Standard Work Instructions and integrated into the part record, so a shipped component carries the inspection and test evidence regulated programs require. 3rd Facility Addition Underway

A 3rd addition to the Ogden facility is currently underway. The expansion supports continued growth in JD Machine's customer base across aerospace, defense, space exploration, drones and UAV, medical, energy, mining, and commercial industries, and creates capacity for additional production runs and team members without disrupting the existing layout.

The expansion follows the same operating principle as the original 2009 build: designed around the work, with climate control, traceable flow, and quality discipline built into the infrastructure rather than retrofitted later.
