Capabilities & Materials
What materials does JD Machine work with?
We machine aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, tungsten, nickel-based alloys, high-temp alloys, magnesium, brass, copper, bronze, and engineered plastics including nylon and PTFE.
What tolerances can you hold?
Milling tolerances to +/- 0.001 inch for parts that demand precise, complex geometry, with 4- and 5-axis machining centers and dual-spindle, multi-turret turning.
Do you handle low-volume and high-volume runs?
Both. The same cells run one-off development parts and recurring production, geared toward medium to high volume production runs with long-term agreement scheduling for recurring programs.
Quality & Certifications
What certifications does JD Machine hold?
AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015, CMMC Level 2, and ITAR registration. Inspection happens in a temperature- and humidity-controlled quality area with full material traceability.
How do you handle export-controlled work?
JD Machine is ITAR-registered and CMMC Level 2 assessed. Controlled unclassified information is handled inside a certified system, and work areas carry the eligibility requirements the programs demand.

How fast do you respond to quote requests?
Typically within 24 hours. A real engineer reviews your drawings and requirements — not an auto-reply.
What files should I send for a quote?
STEP or IGES models plus PDF drawings work best. Include quantities, target dates, materials, tolerances, and any finishing or program requirements.

Do I need experience to apply for an apprenticeship?
No! The Apprenticeship is an entry-level position. You will complete 4 years of training and an educational program to receive your Journey-Level Machinist Certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor.
